Welcome to the City of New Brunswick's Division of Recreation web site.  The Division of Recreation administers various programs and services directed towards the provision of leisure time activities for the residents and workforce within the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey.  The activities offered by the division include but are not limited to organized competitive sports, leagues for adults and youth, and seasonal events.  Working with a variety of New Brunswick youth serving agencies, we provide a number of special events such as road races, festivals, clinics, tournaments, and fundraisers to support the community.  The Division of Recreation manages a Teen Recreation Center with various programs and activities.  Some of the activities are as follows; golf learning center, batting cages, computer classes, music, karate and self defense, clubs, meetings and a variety of other activities.  The HUB Recreation Center comes complete with a fitness center, dance studio, large game room, computer lab, movie theater, video lounge, and much more.  The center also provides computer classes complete with 26 new gateway lap top computers for after school learning, homework assistance, information, and counseling.

In cooperation with the Division of Parks, the Division of Recreation currently manages the use of all athletic fields, playgrounds and park facilities in the city through the administration of a permit system.  To gather more information about our programs and activities please stop by our office at 411 Joyce Kilmer Avenue in New Brunswick, NJ or call us at (732) 745-5125.

Soccer Registration will begin June 1st. "Determined to Reach Your Destiny IX Track and Field Camp


July 14-17, 2009 Tuesday thru Friday at New Brunswick High School.  9am to 3pm.  Boys and girls ages 7-17.  Camp registration is $30 per child.  There will be a Track and Field Meet held on Saturday, July 18th at the same location.  For more information and an application, visit www.joettasportsandbeyond.com

New Brunswick Soap Box Derby:

New Brunswick Recreation, Johnson & Johnson, and Turtle & Hughes annually sponsor the largest Soap Box Derby in the State of New Jersey on the second weekend in June.  You are invited to join us this year on Sunday, June 14, 2009 for this event.  We annually host this event at Johnson & Johnson's World Headquarters.  The drivers come from around the state for this event.  The winning teams will advance to the International Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio later in July.  For more info please email the Derby Director Mike Blackwell at mblack942@aol.com or call (732) 745-5125x12.
