Welcome to New Brunswick Recreation's official web site. New Brunswick Recreation is pleased to offer a variety of programs for its residents and visitors in the City of New Brunswick, New Jersey. The New Brunswick Recreation community has many wonderful partners and sponsors to thank for our recreation and leisure services. The HUB Recreation Center serves as home for the recreation office at 411 Joyce Kilmer Avenue in New Brunswick. The HUB Recreation Center hosts: a fitness center, dance studio, game room, computer labs, movie theater, sound studio, golf learning center, batting cage, cafe, and more. New Brunswick Youth Sports Programs The New Brunswick Recreation has many youth sports programs and many partners to help with program offerings. Our programs are seasonal with basketball and volleyball in the winter, football and soccer in the fall, and baseball and softball in the spring. golf, tennis, track, and other sports are provided throughout spring, summer, and fall. New Brunswick Recreation shares responsibilities with the New Brunswick Athletic Coalition for Excellence or ACE for youth baseball, softball, basketball, and soccer. New Brunswick Recreation partners with Sports for Life for junior tennis programs and The First Tee of Raritan Valley for junior golf programs. The Supersonics track club hosts the junior track program at Memorial Stadium from spring through the summer. The New Brunswick Athletic Association hosts Pop Warner Football at Memorial Stadium and Recreation Park annually in the fall. Park Permit Requests If you are interested in obtaining a permit to reserve a ball field, pavilion, tennis court or athletic facility in any park in New Brunswick, please visit our "Forms and Permits" page to download a permit. There are fees to reserve permits for all parks in New Brunswick. Permits are based on first come, first serve policy. You must submit a permit at least two weeks prior to the event. | New Brunswick Soap Box Derby Four participants from New Brunswick's Soap Box Derby advanced to Akron Ohio for the International Soap Box Derby in July. New Brunswick Champion's: Noah Ratliff (Stock), Nina Marie Amadeo (Super Stock), Patrick Flynn (Masters), and Meredith Miller(Rally) all won the local race and advanced to compete in Akron on July 23rd. New Brunswick was also selected the "Best Race City in America" this year by the All American Soap Box Derby board this year. Congratulations to the City of New Brunswick, Johnson & Johnson, Turtle & Hughes, and the NJSBR Board. For more info you can go to the New Jersey Soap Box Derby web site at www.njsbd.org site. The New Brunswick race is held annually on the second weekend in June and the track is located at 501 George Street in New Brunswick at Johnson & Johnson's Headquarters. Annually kids ages 8-17 build their soap box cars and race in this competition for the chance to represent the state in All American Soap Box Derby in Akron, Ohio. Fitness Club and Memberships: New Brunswick Recreation has a fitness club available for residents for only $50 for 3 months, $75 for 6 months, or $125 for the year. There are no initiation fees for our fitness membership. Please stop by our facility at 411 Joyce Kilmer Avenue in New Brunswick to check it out.
